Meeting of April 23, 2005

Board Members Absent: Dottie Baker, Mary Ellen Bittorf, Ginny Handorf, Lynn Krigbaum, Richard Remmington, Jim Roeder
Because of a lack of a quorum, this meeting was declared to be a working session only. No official actions will be taken. Also, because of the paucity of speakers, there is no need to change the rules to disallow filibuster.
Norris and Keith have signed the annual report for the Corporation Commission, and it is on its way.
Logo: Dottie's original art work was reviewed. Norris will take it to High-5 and request that they adapt it to color and black/white versions, and to rectangular and square versions, also versions with additional text "Working to conserve open space" (if I recall that correctly).
Brochure: Sue will not go to the printer for setup until we have the final logo. She will distribute the final text via the Board mailing list, as an attachment to an e-mail. Allegra is the only vendor under consideration. We will print at least 1000, possibly more.
Informational Sheets. Two are in final draft form: Conservation Elements, and Financial Support. These can be sent to the printer when needed. Additional ones are awaiting authors.
20/20 and Tracks events. We will run booths at both of these. Keith will handle logistics for the 20/20 event on May 14. Norris, Keith, and Jim Anderson are committed to attend. (Norris is one of the speakers.) Other volunteers are needed. "Flyer" versions of the brochure and info sheets will be printed. Norris will arrange with High-5 to print a banner. If the logo is not ready, they will leave a space for it and screen it in later.
Press Release: Norris did a great job It was in the April 22 edition of the Independent, but relegated to page 12A. Norris will make up a template for the regular monthly meeting announcements.
Website: The home page finally received a major revision. Keith will attempt to keep things current. Board membership will be listed with short bios, but no personal e-mail addresses will be shown.
The Outreach Committee will put together an outline for the Town Council presentation. Target date for our presentation is the 3rd(??) Thursday in June. Please send your input to a member of the committee (Norris Dodd, Richard Remmington, Sue Sitko). They need your comments on how we can help the city reach its goals as outlined in the Strategic Plan. (Nicely printed copies of the plan are available at the city office.) They also need examples of questions the council members are apt to ask during the presentation.
New Business: Saturday meetings are not working out. Possible new days were discussed. Keith will poll board members as to their opinions. Second Wednesday of the month, at either 5:00PM or 7:00PM are preferred choices.
