Minutes of August 8, 2006 meeting

Board members present: Jim Anderson, Keith Justice, Norris Dodd, Richard Remmington

Board members absent: Dottie Baker, Ginny Handorf, Lynn Krigbaum, Sue Sitko

Also present: Barbara Bechler, Paul Eckel, Michia Guy

Jim called the meeting to order at 7 PM. Since a quorum was not present, no official action will be taken.

Norris gave the treasurer?s report. He announced the receipt of an anonymous donation of $1000.

Lacking a quorum, action on the vacant board seat was postponed.

Keith reported on the Crosswhite ranch trip. Keith and Jim Crosswhite have discussed timing. Jim suggests we delay the trip until after the monsoon rains have stopped in September. We will discuss timing again at our September 12 meeting.

Norris reported on the status of the ?Adopt-A-Highway? signs. Apparently we have been misinformed on the speed with which we can expect the new signs. Due to delays in ADOT's bureaucracy, it will be some months before we can expect action.

Keith reported that he had completed drafts of two articles for the newspaper (?Heritage Fund Projects?, and ?Wildlife Corridors?). His hope is that overwhelming feelings of guilt with spur others to action.

Norris reported at length, with discussion from the floor, on the Tejido Project, the Open Space Committee, Woodland Lake Park, and related matters.

Jim adjourned the meeting at 9:00 PM
